Your Nutritional Insurance Policy

Does this sound like you? Busy schedule, always on the run, snacks and meals are last-minute, grab-what’s-convenient afterthoughts? You’re definitely not alone. In today’s fast-paced, fast food world, nutritional deficiency is on the rise, and it is critical to understand how to support your body for optimal energy, health, and well being.

Good nutrition is being able to provide your body with an adequate supply of essential nutrients, which are the elements required for normal body function that can’t be made by the body itself. These nutrients are found in Nutrifii Optimals and include vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential building blocks for achieving and maintaining optimal health.*

We all know that it’s important to include nutrient-rich fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in our diets. The best of intentions notwithstanding, it’s still hard to always be in control of what ends up on our plate. A powerful way to stand up for your body is by adding nutritional supplements like Nutrifii Optimals to your daily health regimen.*

The Big Benefits

One of the biggest benefits of including health supplements in the diet is preventing deficiencies. If you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency, your energy levels can plummet; you can feel mentally sluggish and even develop deficiency-related diseases. For instance, in 2009 the International Osteoporosis Foundation reported that vitamin D deficiency was on the rise, causing serious bone-health problems.1
In a 2009 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it was reported that vitamin C deficiency could lead to impaired brain development.2

Many healthcare professionals and scientists recognize that vitamin supplements play an important role in supporting your overall health and well being.3 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated in a consumer report on their website that supplements of vitamins, minerals, or fiber also may help meet special nutritional needs, including the elderly, young children, women who may become pregnant, people with various illnesses, and medical conditions that include asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, hypertension, and high cholesterol, those who are dealing with stress and those who are taking certain medications that affect the way that food is metabolized.4

In other words, nearly everyone can benefit from taking quality natural health supplements.*

It’s all About the Balance

Here’s what you need to understand about the difference between vitamins and minerals—and why together they create such powerful synergy.

  • Vitamins are organic micronutrients that are obtained naturally from plants and animals.
  • Minerals are inorganic and originate in the earth through soil and water.
  • Vitamins can be divided into fat-soluble & water-soluble groups and minerals into macro-minerals & trace minerals.
  • Each vitamin and mineral has a different function, and your body functions best when all are in balance.

Vitamins and minerals have an amazing teamwork system that often makes them work more efficiently when absorbed together. For example, the body is able to absorb iron with the help of vitamin C, and vitamin D is important in helping the body more efficiently absorb needed amounts of the minerals phosphorus and calcium.*

Stand Out Ingredients

The Optimals offer a comprehensive array of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, including unique and beneficial ingredients such as Japanese knotweed, also known as resveratrol, which is a powerful antioxidant supporting a person’s overall health and well being. Cinnamon bark, a component of the traditional Japanese medicine Mao-to, has been shown in studies to have positive health benefits.5

Another Optimals ingredient, olive leaf, has been used medicinally throughout history. Clinical evidence has shown olive leaf extracts supports blood pressure that is already within the normal level.6 And a liquid extract made directly from fresh olive leaves recently gained international attention when it was shown to have an antioxidant capacity almost double green tea extract and 400% higher than vitamin C.7

Quercetin is a plant-derived flavonoid widely found throughout nature and shown to have anti-inflammatory8 and other useful properties that support optimal health. Pomegranate juice has vitamin C, B5, potassium, and polyphenols.9 In addition to anti-inflammatory properties,10 studies show that rosemary may shield the brain from free radicals.*,11

Optimals Listed in the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR)

ARIIX Announces Optimals Supplements to be Included in the Physicians’ Desk Reference

Most health professionals in the United States consider the Physicians’ Desk Reference one of the most important and frequently consulted reference books in the industry

BOUNTIFUL, Utah – Premier global health and wellness company ARIIX announced today that Optimals Vitamins and Minerals nutritional supplements will be listed in The Physician’s Desk Reference (PDR), the most widely used compilation of prescribing information used by physicians. Virtually every physician in the United States uses the PDR, with readership studies indicating that nine out of ten doctors consider the PDR their most important and most frequently consulted reference book.

“There are a very limited number of nutritional companies listed in the PDR,” says Dr. Ray Strand, MD. “The Physician Desk Reference (PDR) is the physician’s bible. I am excited that I am now able to point out to my patients that ARIIX Optimals are listed and part of the PDR.”

The PDR is an annual directory of ethical pharmaceutical, biological, and diagnostic products published as a service to the medical field. Inclusion in the Physicians’ Desk Reference adds to the visibility and credibility of ARIIX’s already well-regarded reputation for exceptional quality, integrity and standards. In the last year, Optimals have also earned NSF International certification, following verification of the products’ safety and adherence to strict standards of quality through rigorous independent third-party testing.

Information about ARIIX Optimals within the PDR highlights the quality of the ingredients, noting that they are manufactured according to pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards and meet United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) guidelines. It also includes dosages and instructions for the products’ recommended use.

“From day one we knew that our products needed to pass the highest level of scrutiny and testing to become the clear choice for our customers around the world,” said Mark Wilson, ARIIX President. “That’s why we continually exceed industry standards in manufacturing, third-party testing, and collaboration with recognized experts in nutrition. Our customers expect the very best when they see the ARIIX Seal of Approval for Superior Quality & 100% Potency Guarantee. Being listed in the PDR is one more step in our commitment to supporting their health.”

“The significance of this goes well beyond the walls of a doctor’s office,” adds Deanna Latson, ARIIX Chief Product Officer. “We are pleased that Optimals have been included in the latest version of the PDR because doctors, health care professionals, health-and-fitness leaders, and even smart families have come to rely on this influential publication to keep them aware of the best choices for supporting their health needs.”

The PDR has been relied upon as the authoritative source for prescription drugs for 68 years. Found in virtually every physician’s office, pharmacy, clinic, and library, no medical reference is more current, more recognized, or more respected. The PDR contains full, FDA-approved drug label information, including warnings and precautions, drug interactions, and hundreds of full-color pill images. Every label in the PDR includes information on dosages, side effects, and safety information.

Each year, copies of the PDR are distributed to approximately a half-million practicing physicians and chief pharmacists in the United States. In addition, other health professionals – including dentists, nurses, veterinarians, hospitals, and libraries – purchase the book, raising the total distribution to well over one million copies.

Optimal-V (Vitamins) Optimal-M (Minerals) FAQs

Q: What are the Optimals?
A: Our vitamins and minerals, also known as The Optimals, feature a proprietary blend of bioavailable nutrients, which support critical cellular function in the body. Formulated in properly balanced ratios for daily use, the Optimals also feature the requisite cofactors for proper vitamin and mineral utilization in the body.*

Q: What do they do?
A: Nutrifii Optimals contain a comprehensive array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, including nutrients and other beneficial ingredients which university studies have shown to be critical in maintaining healthy cellular function, support heart, eye, skin and lung function, as well as promoting improved bone, muscle and nerve health.*

Q: Is it best to take the Optimals with or without food?
A: It is always best to take your nutritional supplements with a meal. This allows your body to absorb the nutrients more efficiently and with a greater degree of tolerance. Having food in your stomach will significantly improve the absorption of the nutrients in your Vitamin and Mineral capsules.

Q: Can I take the Optimals with my medication?
A: In most cases—yes. The nutrients found in the Vitamin and Mineral capsules are the same nutrients you find in your foods; however, because of supplementation you are able to consume these nutrients at levels you can’t get from your foods. Therefore, if your physician allows you to eat, you can take your supplements. The only precaution would be if you are taking a blood thinner known as Coumadin or Warfarin. Please refer to the next frequently asked question to learn what to do if you are taking this medication.

Q: Can I take the Optimals if I am taking the prescription medication Coumadin (also known as Warfarin)?
A: Coumadin, also known as Warfarin, is a prescription blood thinner that works by blocking vitamin K from doing its job in the liver to produce clotting products. Therefore, many physicians become concerned when patients who are taking Coumadin (Warfarin) also take supplements that contain vitamin K. ARIIX Optimals contain 45 mcg of vitamin K per recommended dose (three capsules).

It is crucial that you inform your physician of your desire to take ARIIX Optimals while also taking Coumadin. Recent studies have shown that consuming a modest amount of vitamin K while also taking Coumadin allows for greater control of the blood’s Protime, or measurement of thinning. Your physician will make adjustments to the dose of Coumadin (Warfarin) you are prescribed based on ongoing Protime measurements. Therefore, if you decide to take your Optimals in conjunction with Coumadin (Warfarin) it is critical that you are consistent in taking your supplements. This will allow your physician to make the appropriate adjustments to the amount of medication you are prescribed. In most cases, many individuals are able to take the Optimals in conjunction with Coumadin; however, this decision is ultimately up to your physician.

Q: Can children take the Optimals? If so, what are recommended amounts and ages?
A: Children ages 5 to 8 years of age: We recommend giving children in this age group one Mineral capsule along with one Vitamin capsule per day. If they are unable to swallow a pill or capsule, the contents of the capsule can be poured into a drink or meal replacement shake like ARIIX Pure Nourish. You certainly can blend in different frozen fruits to make these drinks tastier. However, you will not change the potency or the ability to absorb these nutrients by doing this.

Children 9 to 12 years of age (with weight ranging from 75 to 100 pounds): We recommend 2 Vitamin capsules per day along with 1 Mineral capsule per day for this age group. Again, if they are not able to swallow pills or capsules you can follow the recommendations noted above.

Children 13 to 18 years of age (weight range 100 to 120 pounds. If weight is more than 120 pounds, use adult dosage recommendations): We recommend giving children in this age group one-half the adult dose of Vitamins and Minerals daily. This would be three Vitamin capsules and two Mineral capsules per day in divided doses. Two Vitamin capsules and one Mineral Capsule with breakfast and one Vitamin capsule and one Mineral capsule with the evening meal.

Q: Do I need to take the full dosage recommended for ARIIX Optimals each day?
A: The Optimals have been designed to provide advanced levels of essential nutrients shown to provide a health benefit communicated through medical literature. Dr. Strand refers to this as cellular nutrition. A one-a-day multivitamin is based on RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance), which was established as the minimal amount needed to avoid acute deficiency diseases like pellagra or scurvy. Numerous studies have shown no significant health benefits from one-a-day multivitamins. However, there are thousands of studies that show health benefits from supplementing a healthy diet with the optimal or advanced levels of nutrients found in ARIIX’s Optimals. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to consume the recommended amount of supplements that appears on the bottles.

Q: What is the dosage for Optimal-V?
A: The recommended dosage for Optimal-V is 3 tablets, twice daily.

Q: What is the dosage for Optimal-M?
A: The recommended dosage for Optimal-M is 2 tablets, twice daily.

Q: Is there any reasons to taking capsule form to get vitamins/minerals than liquid or they both are just equivalent in terms of benefits?
A: Pros and cons to both. Liquid require heat treatment which some people say destroys the nutrients.

Q: Mica, an ingredient known to cause breakouts for acne prone skin, which is found in the Optimals and Vinali. Will taking this product cause me to break out?
A: No. There isn't enough Mica in the Optimals to cause an issue for people.

Q: Why is my urine bright yellow?
A: This is a harmless side effect of taking highly concentrated supplements. It simply means that you're eliminating any excess vitamins your body doesn't need. Unneeded vitamin C, riboflavin, and water-soluble vitamins are flushed from the body every day and can discolor your urine.

Q: Why do I feel nauseated?
A: Stomach upset and nausea are common symptoms and indicate that your body is adjusting to the new vitamins and minerals you're taking. To ease this problem, make sure you're taking all supplements with food. Not only will this help relieve symptoms, but certain micronutrients and cofactors in food actually help increase absorption of nutrients in the supplements. Your body should naturally adjust to your new diet within 1–2 weeks, alleviating symptoms. If not, please contact your physician.

Q: Are skin reactions normal?
A: Slight itching and rash-like symptoms are rare but do happen. Your skin is your body's largest organ and is therefore often affected when you alter your nutritional intake. Vitamin A and niacin both contribute largely to these symptoms. Your body should naturally adjust to the supplements within 1–2 weeks. You can decrease your dose to alleviate symptoms. If they persist, or get worse, stop taking Optimals immediately and contact your physician.
